Stanford Center for Image Systems Engineering

Industry Membership

All industry members make an annual contribution to support SCIEN research projects. The amount of the contribution reflects the scope and depth of their involvement in the SCIEN research program and direction.

Membership Options

The Founding Members form the industrial leadership of SCIEN. They actively participate in the SCIEN Steering Committee and Scientific Advisory Board and provide Mentors to work closely with individual faculty and students on specific research projects. Founding Members also have the option of placing a Researcher-in-Residence at the Center and hosting graduate students as summer interns. Through these and other mechanisms, Founding Members become key stakeholders in the success and future of the Center.

The Senior Members participate in the Scientific Advisory Committee that reviews the research activities of the Center. Senior Members have the option of providing a Mentor to work closely with one faculty and his or her students on a specific research project. They may also host a student as a summer intern at their site.

Affiliate Members participate in the Annual Review, Student Job Fair, Lecture Series, seminars and workshops held at the Center. Through these mechanisms, they are advised about the research activities of the Stanford Center for Image Systems Engineering.

All members have the opportunity to evaluate research findings, learn about technology innovations and inventions, and interact with researchers at an Annual Review. Members are informed about invention disclosures and patent opportunities. Lecture series, seminars and targeted workshops provide a forum in which members can learn about advances in research and engineering, discuss new technology and marketing trends, and form industry standards. Finally, members have the opportunity to recruit students at an annual Student Job Fair.
