Abstract:  2D generative models are now able to synthesize increasingly high-quality images and videos. This has interesting implications for 3D graphics tools that have been developed for essentially the same goal. In this talk, I will be presenting some of the work we have been doing at Adobe on building generative models for 3D assets as well as some of our explorations of incorporating 3D graphics like controls into generative models. Combining these approaches, we believe will allow for both more approachable and more expressive content creations tools.

Bio:  Kalyan Sunkavalli is a Principal Scientist at Adobe Research where he leads a research team focused on inventing tools for democratizing 3D content creation. This includes pushing the state of the art in methods for 3D generation, neural reconstruction and rendering, as well as driving their adoption in Adobe’s creative products. Kalyan received his Ph.D. from Harvard University.
